Lyfta Live Lessons
A world of human stories - delivered straight to your classroom
Lyfta live lessons are 45 minute sessions, delivered by our in-house teacher live, via Zoom. The sessions bring together many different schools from around the world for an exciting shared experience.
Life on land: protecting biodiversity
In early October we will mark two important awareness days; World Animal Day and World Habitat Day as well as the events period of Global Goals Week (for which Lyfta are a partner organisation). To celebrate, our next live lessons will explore life on land (UN Sustainable Development Goal 15) and how we can play our part to protect biodiversity.
We'll be bringing you a brand new storyworld The Island Biologist where students can meet marine biologist Paula, researching ocean bird populations off the coast of Galicia, northern Spain. Learn about the amazing Shearwater bird species she studies.
Our brilliant in-house teacher Noel will take students through 360° spaces showing the remote island where Paula does her research and we will have the chance to hear her story through a powerful short documentary. Students will have the opportunity to share their own thoughts and reflections on the theme with other schools across the UK and beyond.
Sessions are 45 mins and run at the following times:
Wednesday 4th October
- 11.15am (BST) for Years 5, 6, 7 & 8
- 2.00pm (BST) for Years 1, 2, 3 & 4
Thursday 5th October
- 11.15am (BST) for Years 1, 2, 3 & 4
- 2.00pm (BST) for Years 5, 6, 7 & 8
"Lyfta is an organisation that epitomises this notion of education as the building of who we can be. An education that nurtures empathy, that builds character and that broadens our horizons."
“A truly brilliant resource to open minds and hearts to the world we live in... not a bolt-on but a resource to enrich and enliven curriculum. Cannot recommend highly enough"
"Lyfta has inspired and engaged our children more than I thought possible from a single platform. Using beautifully made stories to inspire and educate has been a game changer"
